Bowenwork® ~ A hands on technique that helps the body heal itself

BBB Network hand.png

Bowenwork® is a soft tissue body work which has the capacity to encourage a profound healing response. It is a gentle, manual therapy that releases restrictions in the body and has been shown to promote deep relaxation and relieve muscular tension. Bowenwork® is a specific series of muscle and connective tissue moves that initiates healing in every system of the body. It encourages improved circulation, lymphatic drainage and assimilation of nutrients and elimination of toxins from the body. It works on both structural and energetic levels.

Bowenwork® moves are processed through the central nervous system and serve to balance the autonomic nervous system; the system that regulates fight and flight, rest and digest. As a client you will experience gentle, fingertip pressure movements over the edge of muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia. Through this series of localized maneuvers, we stimulate the body’s nervous system back into “rest and recovery”. This simple calibration allows the body to use its own healing wisdom and regain healthy function.

Often, one session is all a body needs. Typically, a series of 3 to 5 sessions one week apart will allow the body to balance and reset patterns for optimal health. Depending on the severity and duration of the issue, you may require additional sessions. Each time you have a treatment and give the body time for integration, your body holds the adjustment for longer periods. The effects hold well because this non- invasive modality allows the body to do the work.

Your body has natural healing capacities that nobody in the field of medicine can pretend ultimately to understand.                                                                                             ~Wayne Dyer

About Nicki

nicki moffat

 Welcome, I’m glad you’re here.

For over 30 years I’ve been a full time registered nurse in critical care departments.

I can honestly say that what I do as a Bowenwork practitioner is immeasurably better! Typically, nurses are people that want to help their fellow humans heal and be their best selves.  I think if nurses knew about Bowenwork, more people would have heard of it by now; maybe it would even become a mainstream modality!

What a gift to humanity.  Bodywork that works.
